Galway

Galway is a Breton clothier who runs the cobbler half of The Bravil Cobbler and Tailor, in the Bravil Riverside settlement outside Bravil. His partner, Ashirani, runs a clothing business upstairs.

He rises at 7am every morning and heads downstairs to open his shop; he remains there all day until 7pm, when he closes for the day. He goes upstairs and has dinner with Ashirani for two hours, then they go to bed.

Galway wears a blacksmith's apron, canvas trousers, and oiled linen shoes; he has a key to the building.

Galway's shop occupies the lower floor of their building, and Ashirani's shop takes up most of the second floor. The living quarters he shares with Ashirani - such as they are - occupy the rest of the upstairs. They have room for little more than a bed and a couple alcoves, but they make the most of the space, stacking everything neatly on shelves or in crates.

The first time you talk to him, Galway will mistake you for another demanding customer: "Yes, yes, you want your shoes repaired, I know! But you're just going to have to wait like everybody else!" If you note that he's pretty busy, he agrees: "You don't even know the start of it... With the way the people of this city go through their soles, you'd think they all ran marathons on broken glass..."
