Build Mode in The Elder Scrolls: Castles allow the player to change the interior and the appearance of their Castle. The player can change the location of objects, number and position of rooms, as well as the position of walls, floors, and roofs.

As needed, the player can remove Decorations and Work Stations from the Castle (except Throne), which will move them to the appropriate section for further use. To do this, the player must move the object to the lower left corner.

Sections[edit]

Work Stations[edit]

In this section, players can see the Work Stations available for placement and purchase. The player can also see the level required to unlock the purchase of certain Work Stations.

Premium Work Stations can also be purchased through the Store.

Decorations[edit]

In this section, players can see the Decorations available for placement. The player can also purchase Generic and some Premium decorations and also see the level required to unlock the ability to purchase certaine decorations, but only the Generic ones.

Premium Decorations can also be purchased through the Store.

Build[edit]

In this section, the player can change the structure of the Castle, which will change its overall appearance and internal space for use.

The player can sell unneeded stairs and rooms, which will return the same amount of gold and materials as they cost.

Stairs are a merely decorative element. If there is no staircase, the character who needs to get to the unreached floor will be teleported.

Castle Theme[edit]

In this section, the player can view the available Castles Themes and, if unlocked, apply them to change the appearance of the Castle.

Space management[edit]

Although each room is horizontally divided into 4 cells, it is worth keep track of that walls always take 1 of them from the adjacent side, which may not be obvious in the case of exterior walls. Thus, a player will not be able to place a Decoration that occupies 4 horizontal cells in a room that is closed on both sides by walls, as there will be only 2 free cells.

It is worth to note that Work Stations leave 1 free cell on each side (so Work Stations that occupy 2 rooms horizontally will take up only 6 cells), which allows them to be placed in rooms completely surrounded by walls. Therefore, there will always be 2 cells between adjacent Work Stations, suitable for a wall or small decorations.

The place that the decoration will occupy may not be obvious, since the game does not show the number of cells, but the nominal number of rooms. The potential number of cells relative to rooms is as follows:

Notes[edit]

  • The color of the light in the rooms depends on the largest Work Stations located within the open space. If there are several Work Stations that are the same size and are the largest, the color of the light will be taken from the first one that was added to the space.
