Gavin Carter joined the Bethesda Softworks team during Morrowind's development. His first job was as a designer, but for Oblivion he moved into the role of a Producer. He eventually left Bethesda during the Summer of 2009. Gavin was the first Non-Bethesda employee to join the Official Forums, and only later got a job as a developer. As Kathode, Gavin ran the The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind fansite Destination: Morrowind in the lead-up to the game's release.

  • Morrowind — Gavin created layouts and level designs for hundreds of interior dungeons, homes, shops, and miscellaneous locations in Morrowind. He additionally engaged in varied tasks such as balance passes on weapons and magic, in-game fiction writing, quest scripting, and coffee runs.[1]
  • Tribunal — Gavin was credited as a full designer on Tribunal during his second internship, where he conceptualized, wrote, scripted, and debugged over 10 quests.[1]
  • Oblivion — As a full-time Bethesda employee, Gavin was given the title of Technical Producer on Oblivion; Where he managed schedules, tasks, and bug loads for an entire team of 20+ programmers. He was also responsible for art, level design, animation, and outsourcing for the project at various points in development. Lastly, Carter set up, scripted, and captured the in-game video footage for first public Oblivion trailer.[1]
