Donus Falto was an Imperial from the mid-Second Era. During the Three Banners War, he was a commoner from Cheydinhal who fled after the Imperial Legion took over and forced its young men into their ranks. His disappearance is what generally sparked the rebellion, and while his father went out to find him in the Cyrodilic wilderness,[1][2] Donus Falto went to the Imperial City and found refuge in an alliance's sewer base.[3]
Donus Falto was the son of Tertius and Kirandas Falto and came from Cheydinhal. His favorite treat was his mother's sweetrolls[1] but hates it when it goes stale.[4] When the Planemeld occurred in 2E 582 and broke the Empire of Cyrodiil apart, the Imperial Legion based in Cheydinhal assumed complete control, turned its population into slaves and stole all of their possessions. While the people were put to work and feed the soldiers, young able-bodied men were forced from their homes and taken into their ranks. Before the Imperials went to the Falto household, Donus escaped and was lost to the wilderness.[1] His parents were devastated and his father, Tertius went out to find him. The rest of Cheydinhal was angry and decided to fight back.[2]
Meanwhile, Donus and two friends went to the Imperial City.[3] With the bridges to the Imperial City destroyed[5] and entry into the sewers denied by the Imperial Guards, Donus and his friends had to swim across the slaughterfish-infested waters of Lake Rumare. Donus was the only one who survived while the slaughterfish killed his friends. Unable to enter the tunnels, swim back to the mainland, or go up into the city as it was being invaded by Coldharbour, Donus was stuck in the Imperial Sewers, where he sat safely with one of the alliances.[3]
