Mendel Eves was a Buoyant Armiger of the Tribunal Temple operating in the Third Era. Despite being a Nord in an overwhelmingly Dunmer order,[1] Mendel Eves was a cherished member of the Armigers, seen as brave and honorable.[2] Mendel wielded the Cleaver of St. Felms,[2] an ironic weapon for the Armiger to carry given the eponymous saint the axe was named for was famously a scourge on the Nordic people.[3][4] Mendel died fighting against the dreaded Sixth House in Tureynulal, the former Dwemer tower turned House Dagoth citadel.[2]
In 3E 427 the Nerevarine plundered Tureynulal and retrieved the Cleaver of St. Felms from Mendel's corpse. The Hero returned the holy relic to the Temple, before later being personally entrusted with the artifact.[5]
