Expansion[edit]
I'd really like to expand this into a full page, encompassing both versions of the pantheon. I just hate the awkwardness of linking to both when applicable, or else randomly choosing one just for the sake of bypassing a disambig page. I'd rather have the one page, that has the history on why there are two sizes for the pantheon, and sections for each. The current entries for each version are just paragraph-long stubs on the Gods pages, so it's not like combining them would make a page too long or anything. - To be honest, there are several that I think we should expand into full pages describing the situation involved in both, rather than just a disambig page. However, just to address the Lore:Dragonborn page, I didn't actually pick it randomly. I used the Imperial pantheon, which traditionally was the nine divines. The Altmer pantheon doesn't include Akatosh, and since they were the ones that imposed the ban on Talos worship, I felt that the Nine Divines was more appropriate as a link than the Eight. It was a judgement call that could easily have been argued the other way, but it wasn't random. Jeancey (talk) 19:08, 23 January 2014 (GMT)
planets[edit]
The Divines ARE planets, it says so in Oblivion and I believe Battlespire. So THERE :P SirEricTheEuphoric1 (talk) 00:06, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think the page should be entirely silent about the correlation, but it's a complicated issue, and we don't want to overstate the facts. Would you prepare a draft of the page which includes what you would like to say, and perhaps we can take it from there? Insignificant RevisionsThreats•Evidence 03:38, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

- Problem is, it isn't stated anywhere in Oblivion or Battlespire. Our best source is this out-of-game article and unseen game data from the Orrery plugin. I wouldn't recommend adding too much about it without better sources. —Legoless (talk) 03:47, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

Trivia section[edit]
There's a long-running rumour in the community that the Nine Divines are supposed to be equivalent to nine key-personalities in Bethesda. Maybe it's worth adding to the Trivia section? Also, add the fact that Talos was introduced as a proper god only after Daggerfall, I'm not sure when though, either in lore-books, or in one of the spin-offs, or even in Morrowind.--188.131.11.194 10:11, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- This info isn't relevant to the lore page. We already have the origin of the names of the Divines noted on the Daggerfall Easter eggs page. —Legoless (talk) 09:52, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Connection between divines and restoration magic[edit]
Any lore reason why in Oblivion the members of the chapels of the divines deal in restoration magic? Such as training and selling spells.
I know magnus is supposed to be the source of all magic. So could this just be the writers associating chapels with healing? McDerstein (talk) 07:15, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
