Removed title[edit]

I removed the title from this template because it was redundant in Bloodmoon:East Empire Company. --DrPhoton 03:38, 5 April 2006 (EDT)

I've been tending to just use the noinclude tags around the title to handle this issue. Endareth 03:40, 5 April 2006 (EDT)
The whole purpose of the title was so pages like Lore:Factions E would be correctly divided. However I didn't realise it would cause problems; anyway, it can be done directly from that page. Garrett 03:44, 5 April 2006 (EDT)

Links[edit]

The Ebonheart link using {{NAMESPACE}} was producing [[Bloodmoon:Ebonheart|]] instead of [[Morrowind:Ebonheart|]] in the Bloodmoon:East Empire Company page. So I decided not to transclude the last sentence and write the correct links in that page. --DrPhoton 08:48, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

The who?[edit]

First, The Who are a band; second, who is the "Duke" mentioned in this article? IWon'tFightUndead 21:13, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Duke Vedam Dren. --TheRealLurlock Talk 22:11, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

East India Company's in real life[edit]

There have been many East Indian Company's, during the years of European expansian to oversea area's. The one that was linked was the britisch, Tough the first of the kind of company's, there where more, like a French, a german, a Portugese, a Scandinavian and a Dutch East Indian Company. The dutch one is historical notable because it was the first company to issue stock and considered the first mega corporatian. So a link to only the british version seems out of order to me. There isn't an english wiki page giving a list of all East indian company's, so I placed a link to the page bout chartered company's, the East indian company's are all listed there (as far as I know them).82.170.196.12 00:29, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

True, but we don't "break the fourth wall" in the lore: most articles should appear as if they were written by, and for, citizens of Tamriel. Minor Edits 03:21, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Cleanup[edit]

Current article: "The East Empire Company is a monopolistic mercantile enterprise chartered by the Emperor and managed by a board of directors appointed by him. The Company has sole authority to trade in certain goods, such as flin, Raw Ebony, Raw Glass, Dwemer artifacts, and more recently, Stalhrim. It also enjoys favorable tariffs and regulations for import and export of other common and exotic goods from Vvardenfell, like kwama eggs, marshmerrow pulp, saltrice, and the famous perfume, Telvanni Bug Musk. Because of its wealth and the favor of the Emperor, the East Empire Company wields considerable influence in the Duke of Vvardenfell's administration."

The bolded and the break are the only differences. After that, I don't know if there's direct quotation from someone in Solstheim or not. Vely►Talk►Email 19:18, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

East Empire Company/East Empire Trading Company[edit]

Is the phrase "East Empire Trading Company" actually used anywhere? The only reference I can find is from the Dragonborn's speech options in dialogue with Delvin Mallory, where they say "EETC" instead of "EEC." —Atvelonis (talk) 00:44, 4 May 2020 (GMT)

And some other tidbits in the CK where "EETC" is used, but it's never actually spelled out. The quest packages for TG04 ("Scoundrel's Folly") "TG04GulumEiTraveltoEETC" and "TG04GulumEiStartsAtEETC," and a door in Solitude called "TG04TEMPDoorSolitudeEETCConnection." When asked "East Empire Company?" (no "Trading"), Crescius Caerellius replies "They're the largest trading company in Tamriel, originally chartered by the Emperor of Cyrodiil himself," but this doesn't signify anything about the company's actual name. For all we know, it could be "East Empire Tangerine Company," unless we can find an actual citation. Why are citations not used for alternate names of subjects? —Atvelonis (talk) 00:55, 4 May 2020 (GMT)
It's used in plenty of places. For example, "East Empire Trading Company" is the name of the Ebonheart offices in basegame Morrowind. Citations are regularly given for alternate names, they just haven't been added to this page. —Legoless (talk) 01:57, 4 May 2020 (GMT)
Thank you for the response. I'm afraid I don't quite follow, though—all I see in the Construction Set are locations called "East Empire Company Hall," "East Empire North Warehouse," and "East Empire South Warehouse," none of which contain the word "Trading." —Atvelonis (talk) 00:16, 6 May 2020 (GMT)
