Morrowind talk:Hlormaren
The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
House?[edit]
This article recommends using Hlormaren as a player home. Is this really advisable? The article makes specific mention of how many storage containers the stronghold has, but I don't think these would be safe containers for storing your items, as their contents would reset.
Sounds like a story for heartbreak in the making, to me.

- Unlike in Oblivion and Skyrim, respawning containers aren't really an issue in Morrowind as far as I know. As long as you empty out all the original contents of the container, whatever you put inside the container should be safe. Clearing the place out is a good idea though so that what you store in the containers aren't marked as stolen items (as the NPC's in Hlormaren probably have ownership of the containers). The only containers that are capable of respawning are those marked as
organic
in the Construction Set. Theseorganic
containers include the supplies chests that the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild have which don't allow you to store stuff in them anyways. Forfeit (talk) 18:24, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

- Shortly after Morrowind launched, I remember losing a bunch of items I stored in crates in the top of a home in Balmora. I suppose the experience stuck with me; even now, ~13 years later, I'm wary of placing items in storage containers that aren't part of a player stronghold or some other purpose-built player structure. I did some poking around on Google just now to see if I was crazy, and whilst it turns out I AM crazy, I guess it is a pretty popular misconception. There are also reports of other users losing all their items stored in a given container, however apparently this occurrence is random and not fully understood. Guess I can put this one to rest, then. Thanks for the info! Thalass (talk) 21:40, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
