Etavarn's House is a home located west of the general goods store in Markarth. The front door is protected by an intermediate lock. There are plenty of owned containers to steal from and bookshelves to read off of inside the building. Etavarn is eating at the dining room table, located in the first room. The bedroom lies northeast. There is a hiding spot to the right as you enter. A screen on the west side of the room allows you to conceal yourself from passing NPCs. Delait wanders between the entrance and the bedroom.
The next room, located west, is patrolled by Ionfir. A column separates the left and right sides of the room. A hiding spot is located beneath a wooden platform erected on the right side of the room. An advanced safebox is located in the basement, which is full of fog and inhabited by a cat named Shadowpouncer.
Residents[edit]
- Etavarn's House is abandoned by the time The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim rolls around. In the 4th Era, there is a tunnel leading further underground inside the home, with an altar to Molag Bal at the bottom. In ESO, the altar hasn't been built yet. The decor in the basement can be interpreted as a nod the home's future use.
- The cat Shadowpouncer has replaced Bella, a ghost cat that could previously be found at the same location. Another cat named Shadowpouncer can be found in Blackwood.
