The Harrowed Liches are a trio of Maormer Liches who can be encountered in Carapace Cavern while helping Loraviel. In life, they were the Captains Ancamos, Kaalelrith and Nilail who served under Sealord Gandelec.

They underwent a ritual combining the old shrines of the cavern with the magical properties of the surrounding bismuth to grant themselves lichdom. However, the Gandelec's ritual went awry and they and their crew's spirits are now bound to the cave.

Quest-Related Events

When meeting with Loraviel, she will ask for your assistance with breaking the ritual of her ancient clan member Gandelec, to prevent the Worm Cult from getting any advantage from it. She will hand you an Unattuned Dampening Orb and ask that you fill it with necromantic energy from the shrines in the cavern.

Near each of the three shrines will be a massive magic circle which is guarded by Flamebreath Skulls. When the skulls are destroyed, waves of Shadowstorm ghosts will appear until a Harrowed Lich emerges from the ground as the last defense.

Each of them will threaten you as they arrive:

Harrowed Lich: "Who dares trespass in our cavern?"

Harrowed Lich: "You shall not escape our eternal wrath!"

Harrowed Lich: "None can evade our undying vengeance!"

Once the lich is defeated, an astral projection of Loraviel will appear and direct you to use the orb on the shrine.

• A journal by one of the Harrowed Liches can be found within Carapace Cavern.
