Speaker Frogirde is a Nord and current leader of the Hall of Feathers found in Shor's Stand. As part of the Hall of Feathers, she is responsible for the organization of the village's feasts, along with the music, stories and recording of history. As a Speaker, she acts as a representative for the entire village.

Quest-Related Events[edit]

On the outskirts of Shor's Stand, you can encounter Ysmair, a member of the Nord Cultural Exchange—who asks you to help his fellow envoy Britt the Bold, as her diplomatic overtures to the Speakers are not going well at all.

When you arrive in the town square, you will witness Britt being lambasted in front of a crowd of onlookers:

Speaker Frogirde: "Stick your Stirk Fellowship where the sun sets, mainlander!"
Britt the Bold: "But we can help each other. Rid Solstice of the Worm Cult threat!"
Speaker Hialf: "We have a bigger problem than the Worm Cult. Help with that or go away."
<Speakers Hialf, Frogirde and Sogrard all leave for the respective halls, leaving Britt alone among her belongings.>

After you speak with Britt and agree to help, you and her first approach Speaker Hialf. After you solve the village's beast problem, he will suggest you talk to Frogride next, as out of her and Speaker Sogrard, she is polite enough to listen.

Entering the Hall of Feathers, she will be standing next to the fire pit. Talk with Speaker Frogirde to get her point of view:

"I saw you talk to that strange woman. Britt the Bold. If you're here to get me to hand over my village to a group of outsiders who don't respect our culture, then you're going to have to leave my hall."
Why do you think the Stirk Fellowship doesn't respect your culture?
,"Everyone who comes here looking to take advantage of our might thinks they're more sophisticated than we are.
You've been here long enough to join a hunt, but you haven't picked up a book or asked about our traditions."
If I read a book, will you consider joining the fight against the Worm Cult?
"It's not about books. It's our culture! That Stirk Fellowship wants to use our warriors without really knowing anything about us.
For me to agree to join your cause, you must prove that you're willing to learn who the people of Shor's Stand are."
How can we prove that?
"Telling you would defeat the purpose.
Look around. Examine our books. Learn about us and find your own inspiration. You seem clever enough. And that young woman certainly has a lot of spirit. You'll figure it out."

You can then look around the hall for various books relating to Shor's Stand. Talking to her before reading the books:

"Right. I don't want to think that I overestimated your ability to find inspiration in our culture, but I believe I said I wasn't going to help you.
Look around. I'm sure there's something in our hall that will teach you something about who we are."

Around the hall, you can find Praise for the Fourteen, On the Tradition of Brawls and the Together Stew Recipe. Speaking to Frogride afterwards:

"So, you found some books. That's a step in the right direction, at least.
Can't you look for inspiration somewhere else? If I walk you through this process, then the exercise is meaningless."

Afterwards, you can meet Britt outside and tell her what Speaker Frogride said, and show her the books. Britt will be inspired by the recipe, and decides to recreate the stew and hold a "Feast of Friendship" for the Speakers. You and Britt will split the ingredient search between yourselves and later you will assist her in cooking the Together Stew. After making the stew, you can serve it to the speakers sitting outside the Whale Splash Inn.

Talking to Speaker Frogride before serving her:

"Britt's doing her best to get our feasting atmosphere correct, but I won't praise either of your efforts until I see everyone's reactions."

Upon serving the stew:

<Speaker Frogirde begins to eat.>
Speaker Frogirde: "Together stew? At this time of year? Oh, it's delicious."

Once you have served the three Speakers, Frogirde will call you over:

Speaker Frogirde: "Your food's served and your feast started. But was it enough? Come, speak to me."

Talk to Frogirde to find out her verdict:

"I hope you know that the stew was lumpy and not a feast of friendship, like Britt the Bold said. It's usually served as part of a harvest celebration.
And yet …."
What is it?
"Together stew is made from whatever's close at hand. We come together as a village to make it hearty and delicious. So, I suppose it is about friendship.
Your ambassador may not be as daft as she appears. She actually taught me something."
Is that enough to prove to you that the Fellowship is willing to learn about your culture?
"It wasn't elegant, but what about Nords ever is? Your feast was earnest and displayed willingness. I don't believe you'll treat our warriors as fodder. The Hall of Feathers will support your Fellowship.
And I have a gift for you. A book."
Why are you giving me this?
"You haven't talked to Sogrard yet, correct? I know what he'll ask of you and this book will help.
Before you ask, I won't tell you what his challenge will be. I won't cheat. But since you found inspiration from a book before, perhaps you can again."

Afterwards, Speakers Hialf and Frogirde will talk to each other:

Speaker Hialf: "See Frogirde? I told you this ambassador was different."
Speaker Frogirde: "It's the wrong season for a harvest feast. But, their effort is commendable."
Britt the Bold: "It worked? Our feast worked?"

Talking to Frogirde before Speaker Sogrard:

"I'm sure you've noticed, but Britt is loud. I heard all her plans from here.
You think you can convince Speaker Sogrard to listen? You better have the owl's golden tongue."

When you talk to Speaker Sogrard, he will explain his position regarding the Stirk Fellowship and then challenges Britt to give a speech that convinces him and she needs to incorporate the village's founding story into it.

If you talk to Frogirde before Britt:

"Don't worry so much about Speaker Sogrard. You managed to convince both Hialf and me. You'll convince Sogrard, too."

When you talk to Britt, she will ask you to read the book you were given, and discreetly prompt her when she falters during her speech. If you talk to Frogirde during the speech:

"I told you that book would be helpful."

Near the end of Britt's speech:

Britt the Bold: "You are visionariers. Barrel lashers. Hunters of darkness. You with your ceremonial mead and … the food you eat for your forenords …."
Britt the Bold: "Cheese!"
Britt the Bold: "Yes! You are cheese eaters, too. Your traditions live as long as your village. No one can take that away."
Britt the Bold: "You fear your voice will be silent? You fear orders? You are Shor's Stand Nords! You will not let those things happen!"
Speaker Sogrard: "That's right!"
Speaker Frogirde: "Not bad. Right, Sogrard?"
Britt the Bold: "This island is your home. Defend it with friends. Defend it in fellowship!"
Speaker Sogrard: "I will have to think on this."
Britt the Bold: "Can you think in tavern? My throat's dry and wants to drink."
<The Speakers and Britt the Bold begin walking into the tavern. Britt stops and turns around.>
Britt the Bold: "One moment, friend. I have ideas!"

Britt suggests that you and her start a brawl in the tavern to cement the alliance the Nord way. Inside the Whale Splash Inn, Britt throws the first punch and the Speakers lay out the ground rules for the brawl:

Speaker Sogrard: "No maiming or serious injuries!"
Speaker Frogirde: "Ah yes. A time-honored Shor's Stand tradition."

During the brawl, you will have your own challengers. After the first wave are defeated, more will jump down from the rafters:

Speaker Frogirde: "Off the rafters? Make sure to land on someone!"

After you deal with the participants that want to fight you, the Speaker trio at the opposite end of the hall will want to get in on the action. You will need to defeat them to end the brawl.

Once Speaker Frogride is defeated she will become non-hostile and goes outside:

Speaker Frogirde: "Have fun hitting someone else. I'm done."

When all three of the Speakers are defeated, you can follow Britt outside, where you can find her and the Speakers togther. Talking to Frogirde before Speaker Sogrard:

"By the owl, I haven't felt this good in a long time. You fight better than I expected. I can't remember the last time someone bested the three of us.
Sogrard may not show it, but he's impressed. I wouldn't be too worried about his decision."

Talking to Speaker Sogrard, he admits the Britt rose to the occasion and that she reminded him that their people have always independent and will not be ordered by anyone. So the Speakers will go to Sunport first, and send for their warriors when they are needed. Talking to Speaker Frogirde before Britt:

"I can't believe my ears! Speaker Sogrard just reconsidered his opinion. I thought the hawk would never bless this day."

Speaking to Frogirde before completing the quest, she will wonder what she needs to bring to Sunport:

"So, we go to Sunport. What will I need to pack? It's been so long since I left the village.
I'm sure they will have drums in the city. But what about pipes and flutes? Better bring everything, just in case."

After completing the quest, you can talk to Frogirde a bit more about the role of the Hall of Feathers in Shor's Stand:

"Gods, I haven't left the village in a long time. I'm a little nervous about it, actually.
Don't worry, I'll still go. I refuse to leave the fate of Shor's Stand to the other speakers. They don't know enough about our culture!"
I'm sure someone in Sunport has pipes or flutes.
"Yes, but are they Nord flutes? All instruments are not the same. I'm certain they have adequate musical devices, but I want to be sure we have exactly what we require.
I know I'm harsh to outsiders. I'll try to be softer once I assess the situation."
Why do instruments matter to you so much?
"Every little detail matters. If we start compromising, then what is the point?
No, I go to Sunport to ensure our warriors do not forget who they are or where they come from."

Dialogue[edit]

After helping out at Shor's Stand, you can meet Speaker Frogirde outside the Cathedral of the Three Queens in Sunport. Talk with her to see how she's doing:

"There are so many sights, sounds, and foods in this city. It's a good thing we have Britt with us. She's been so helpful in navigating all these new situations.
I should have shown you both more respect in Shor's Stand."
