Thania Caudex was an Imperial citizen who escaped the clutches of Gati the Storm Sister. Thania has two siblings: Claudia and Terentius Caudex.

The Caudex family home was invaded by Gati and her minions, wherein Thania's parents were killed. Terentius fled while his sisters were dragged to the sewers to be tortured. They eventually managed to escape, but Claudia succumbed to her injuries along the way. Thania is rightfully bitter about her predicament, mourning her sister's loss and cursing Gati's name. You would have found the Caudex family insignia on Gati's corpse and brought it to Thania during a quest.

What can you tell me about Gati?

"Not much. She spent most of her time spewing blue lightning over all of us captives. It burned horribly. Everyone else died, including my sister. The Xivkyn left me here to die slowly."

"My sister was a loudmouth and proud. When she was first captured, she spat on Gati and called her horrible names. Gati made an example of her, but always kept her alive.
When we escaped, she was so weak. Her heart just gave out."

What happened to your family?

"Our parents died when the Xivkyn monster broke into our home. My sister spat on Gati and called her horrible names. Gati made an example of her but kept her alive, until the end.
Gati finally went too far and Claudia died. Then they dumped us here."

Any other relatives?

"A brother. No idea what happened to him. He fled when the Dremora attacked our house. Haven't seen him since.
He always thought of himself first. I hope he's dead."

How did you escape?

"I didn't. When my sister died and I was near death, she had us dumped here.
She killed all the rest. I can still smell the flesh burning off their bones."

Why did she torture you?

"For the pleasure of it. She asked no questions, sought no secrets. She hurt us for the joy of seeing us in pain.
Xivkyn are monsters—pure and simple."

Returning the family insignia:

"I never thought I would see you again. Only good thing that's happened to me in weeks."

"My father's insignia! It's the only thing I was able to save when we fled from the house. It is my only remaining connection to this world. After my sister … Let's say I thought I had nothing left.
It's not much, but it's something."

"My family insignia! Thank you. I'll bury it with my sister's body; perhaps it will bring her some peace.

After the quest:

"Keep watch for Gati to reappear. Daedra are never truly gone. If she dies a thousand deaths, it will still not be enough for me."
