Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Upon entering the area beneath Castle Tonnere, locate the cell where Sir Stefan Mornard is held. He will be clearly marked with a quest marker. Initiate a conversation with him. He will explain his predicament and ask for your help, mentioning that the jailor holds the key to his cell.
Sir Stefan will point towards the Dreadsail jailor, Goriadh. Goriadh is likely patrolling the same underground area or in a nearby room. Look for an Orc named Goriadh. Engage in combat with Goriadh and defeat them. Once defeated, loot their corpse to obtain the Cell Key. Ensure you have picked up the key from your inventory.
Return to the cell where you first spoke with Sir Stefan. Approach the locked cell door, and an interaction prompt will appear to use the Cell Key. Activate the prompt to unlock the door. Speak to Sir Stefan again once he is out of the cell. He will thank you for your assistance and discuss the next phase of your plan.
Continue your conversation with Sir Stefan. He will recount what Druid Niraya told him about an ancient tree in the upper courtyard and a hidden shrine beneath it that holds a sacred seed. This will be your next objective.
Exit the underground area and make your way to the upper courtyard of Castle Tonnere. The ancient tree will be a prominent, large tree in the courtyard, likely in a central location. You should see a quest marker leading you to it.
Examine the base of the ancient tree carefully. You will find an entrance to the Eldertide Circle's shrine. Interact with the entrance (it will likely have a visual cue like a glowing symbol or a doorway) to enter the hidden shrine. This will load a new, smaller area.
Once inside the shrine (an ancient grotto), follow the linear path or any quest markers provided. You might encounter some minor enemy encounters or environmental hazards. Navigate through the grotto until you reach the location of the Eldertide Seed. It might be located on a pedestal or within a specific container.
As you approach or attempt to take the Eldertide Seed, Captain Uldiss and several Dreadsail Pirates will ambush you. Captain Uldiss will be a more powerful enemy than the regular pirates. Focus your attacks on Captain Uldiss while managing the other enemies. Defeat Captain Uldiss and the remaining pirates to secure the Eldertide Seed, thus completing the "Tides of Ruin" quest. You will then receive your rewards, which may include gold, a skill point, and an item (Bernique Mornard's Pendant).
