Quest-Related Events

When you enter the audience chamber with the Reekers to cause a distraction, Valkynaz Orran will be standing by Vandacia's side as he demonstrates what he means to do with the Ambitions to Sombren. Eveli Sharp-Arrow will run into the room and shoot at the Reekers, causing a noxious cloud to fill the room:

Councilor Vandacia: "Who dares … interrupt this sacred ceremony? Destroy them!"

Eveli Sharp-Arrow: "Now that's what I call a distraction! Let's grab Sombren and get out of here."

The Valkynaz will then escort the High Priest to a safe location:

Valkynaz Orran: "Councilor, this way! Before the odor overwhelms you!"

You will need to meet Lyranth and the others in the keep's entry hall to escape, but Valkynaz will appear with other Daedra to stop you:

Valkynaz Orran: "Stop them! Recapture the Ambition at all costs!"

While Valkynaz Orran is protected by his shield, several waves of Daedra will teleport in to attack you. Eventually, the Valkynaz will step in:

Valkynaz Orran: "Very well. I shall deal with you myself."

Skills and Abilities

Valkynaz Orran fights similarly to an armamancer, though instead of only changing bound weapons to perform specific abilities, he changes weapons at health thresholds, each granting him specific unique abilities. In order to make him vulnerable, multiple waves of Daedric enemies must be killed first.

Sword

Valkynaz Orran first wields a bound sword.

Quick Strike

Basic melee attack that deals low physical damage.

Heavy Attack

A charged melee attack that deals moderate physical damage and staaggers. This can be blocked to stagger Valkynaz Orran instead.

Daedric Charge

Valkynaz Orran crouches down and begins radiating with purple energy, before launches himself forward at lightning speed towards his target, dealing very high physical damage and launching them backward. This can be blocked.

Bow

At around 75% health, Valkynaz Orran replaces his bound sword with a bound bow.

Quick Shot

A basic ranged attack dealing low physical damage.

Blast Shot

Valkynaz Orran readies up and shoots a magically-enhanced arrow at his target, dealing moderate physical damage and launching them away.

Daedric Volley

Valkynaz Orran crouches down and fires several arrows up into the air towards his target, indicated by several red circles close together. The impact deals moderate physical damage each.

Arrow Explosion

After the arrows land, they will explode shortly after, dealing moderate magical damage each.

Staff

At around 45% health, Valkynaz Orran replaces his bound bow with a bound staff.

Burst

A basic melee/ranged attack dealing low magical damage.

Crippling Rune

Valkynaz Orran charges a spell with his staff, before slamming the tip of his staff at the ground near him, indicated by a red circle, dealing moderate magical damage and stunning his target.

Overcharge

Valkynaz Orran charges his staff with lightning, and sends out two waves of electric energy forward back to back, indicated by three fast-moving red circles, dealing moderate shock damage each.
