Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
On entering Sadrathim, you can find Ganalis Droryn overlooking the water. Speak to him, and he'll express his recent distraction, and request spiritual guidance. The issue at hand seems to be his recent installation of a shrine to Arkay in his family's ancestral tomb. He believes that cracks in the shrine indicate that his family are offended. Ganalis asks that you seek out an answer to how he should handle this problem, and will note two temples that might be able to advise. These are the Chapel of Stendarr in Sadrathim (speak to Zhirasha) and the temple in Ald Iuval (speak to Muran Samarys). You can talk to both priests if you wish, and each priest unlocks a different route to complete the quest.
Siding with the Imperial Cult[edit]
Zhirasha suggests speaking directly with Ganalis' ancestors at the Droryn Ancestral Tomb, in the hope of convincing them to let the shrine stay. He promises a reward if you succeed. Return to Ganalis and ask him about the Droryn ancestral tomb. He'll provide directions and a key. He'll also make mention of an ornery ancestor named Fervayn Droryn, who he believes can be placated with hackle-lo.
To get to the tomb, follow the road north out of town, crossing the bridge over the river, and then immediately turning right onto a dirt track. Follow the track until reaching Ishal-Mull Egg Mine, and then turn left. The track you're on now will go north initially, before turning east. As it turns east, look for the tomb entrance in the northern side of the hill on your right.
You'll be attacked by undead inside. You can kill these, but do be careful not to slay the ghosts, as that will fail the quest. You can speak to any of the passive Droryn Ancestor Ghost within. These can be placated simply by telling them that Ganalis only wishes to help protect the tomb. You'll get a greater reward if you speak to the named ghost in the furthest section of the tomb however. This one - Fervayn Droryn - requires a hackle-lo leaf. On receiving it, he will accept Ganalis' conversion.
Return to Ganalis for a reward - a Blue Pearl if you convinced the generic Droryn Ancestral Ghosts, and a Blue Pearl alongside Kagouti Hide Boots if you convinced Fervayn.
Siding with the Tribunal Temple[edit]
Muran Samarys at the temple in Ald Iuval asks that you inform Ganalis of Arkay's traditional opposition to undead, such as his ancestor ghosts. He also recommends that you read to him from a title called Almalexia Speaks to Children. Once such copy can be bought at Template:TR3Elar Fandas' book store in Bal Foyen.
You don't need the book to convince Ganalis to rethink his Arkay shrine though. Just speaking to him is enough. If you do have the book however, reading from it causes Ganalis to convert back to the Temple faith. This gains you more magical scrolls when you next speak to Muran Samarys.
