Donus Verelnim

Donus Verelnim is a Dark Elf monk and Layman of the Tribunal Temple who can be found on the ground floor of Othmura's Temple. He has been feeling conflicted over witnessing the head priest, Furen Hlavel, withhold a letter from a local traveling merchant, Palosenya. He thinks the letter should be delivered to Palosenya, but does not want to break Furen's trust, and so he is willing to accept help to resolve the situation. He also offers moderate training in Blunt Weapon, Hand-to-hand, and Unarmored.

He wears a common robe with matching pants and shoes. He wields a wooden staff and carries a portion of crab meat, a copy of The Gospel of Saint Veloth, v 1, and 14 gold.

Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows the following spells: Balyna's Efficacious Balm and Heal Companion.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Services:
"For a modest fee I can teach you to defend yourself against the dangers of the road. If you were looking to buy potions, Dartis Seran downstairs is our alchemist. If you are looking to buy general goods, why not visit Palosenya's market stall near the governor's mansion? Quite unusually for an Altmer, she is a professed member of our faith. Meanwhile, I would give Jorna Amber-Throat's shop a wide berth. I was there once, and saw her selling some very questionable literary works."

A Brother's Love[edit]

  • Greetings:
"Oh, forgive me, outlander -- I didn't notice you there. I've had a lot on my mind ever since a letter for Palosenya arrived in town."
"The whole business with that letter for Palosenya is weighing on my soul. Have you figured out what to do about it?"
"Thank you for resolving that business with the letter. I feel like I can finally sleep well again."
  • letter for Palosenya:
(If Disposition < 50):
"Ah, forget it. I can't trust a stranger with such a sensitive matter."
(If Disposition ≥ 50):
"A few days ago, a letter arrived addressed to Palosenya, a traveling merchant who passes through here often. Furen Hlavel, the head priest, agreed to safeguard the letter. The letter wasn't sealed, and I noticed that Furen read it and seemed upset. He put it in his chest, and to my knowledge, he still hasn't given the letter to Palosenya. I don't know what the letter says, but I think Furen may be wrong to withhold it. However, I don't want to betray Furen's trust by telling her. Will you help me?"
  • Yes.:
"Thank you. A faithful heart carries answers, but my guilty heart doesn't know what to do."
  • No.:
"Oh, I hope you reconsider. This has been weighing heavily on me, and I don't know what to do."
"Have you decided what to do yet? If you do end up asking Furen for the letter, don't let him know I told you about it."
(If you gave the Letter to Palosenya back to Furen Hlavel):
"Furen's kept the letter? Well, then, I suppose he really must have a very good reason to do so. At least this doesn't have to weigh on my conscience anymore."
(If you delivered the letter to Palosenya):
"Palosenya received the letter? Thank you. That brings me some peace." (Disposition +20)
(If you convinced Furen Hlavel to give the letter to Palosenya):
"I'm glad to hear that Furen returned the letter to Palosenya. Thank you. That brings me peace." (Disposition +20)
