Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Nolidrando about duties and sensitive tome.
2. (Optional) Ask Teratha Salveth about the sensitive tome.
3. Ask Sarus Eloth about the sensitive tome.
4. Go to Dubshal Hive.
5. Recover the book Dead Magic from the Sky Render Queen's chamber.
6. Return the book to Nolidrando.

Detailed Walkthrough

The High Elf Nolidrando is in the Arcane Library of the Narsis Guild of Mages. Speak to him about duties and he'll reveal that he wants help recovering a sensitive tome named Dead Magic. The tome is a transcript of the last lecture of a missing archmage, Xodores, who is believed by Imperial authorities to have had some involvement in the Warp in the West. Agree to help, and Nolidrando will ask you either to find the missing copy or a replacement for it.

Speak to Teratha Salveth in the same room. She'll point you towards Sarus Eloth as somebody who expressed an interest in the book. He's in the guild's entrance hall. His disposition must be at least 65 to tell you where the book is - Dubshal Hive. A malfunctioning spell meant to calm a Sky Render saw him frenzy instead, enter the hive, and then drop the book. Gather a means of levitating before heading out - hives often have several vertical tunnels.

To reach Dubshal Hive, take the bridge southwest out of the Foreign Quarter, then turn off the Purple Road and keep following the cobbled path southwest and uphill into the desert. You'll pass by a couple of dirt paths on your right -- take the second one, heading west. Follow that, and once you reach the fork where the path goes north and south, you should see the hive on your right. It's just east of the ruin of Ald Khan.

The hive entrance is about halfway up the cliff. You may need to levitate or use fortify jump to reach it. The book, Dead Magic, is in the same chamber as the Skyrender Queen (the northernmost one).
