1. Enter Mala Tor and speak with the statue of Meridia.

Detailed Walkthrough

Mala Tor lies on Morrowind's southern border with Black Marsh, near Stormgate Pass. In your explorations here you will come across a deep shaft. A leap down would surely be fatal, but if you do so you will find yourself in a corridor leading to a shrine dedicated to the Daedra Prince, Meridia. Activate the statue here to receive instructions from the prince. The Sload K'Vatra must die.

Leave Mala Tor. If not teleporting out, you'll need to ascend through the corridors. You will come to a room with a pillar bearing a Welkynd Stone in the center that may appear to have no way out. To open the way forward, look for a button among some clay jars at the northeastern side of the room. The exit should be straightforward from here.

K'Vatra dwells within the Velothi tower of Uddanu, south of Narsis and east of Mala Tor. It is well-secured with high-level locks, with the lowest of these (to the laboratory) being level 80. You can access the main tower through the laboratory, so break the level 80 lock if you've not the means of breaking the level 100. Once inside the main tower, you'll find another level 100 lock blocking your entrance to K'Vatra's chamber. The key to this one is held by Orchengar in the entrance hall. Once inside K'Vatra's chamber, kill it, and then return to Meridia's statue in Mala Tor to complete the quest.

10		Within the ruins of Mala Tor, I spoke to the Daedric Prince Meridia. She is concerned about a Sload in the tower of Uddanu by the name of K'Vatra, who she says is creating foul abominations from the dead. I can find Uddanu directly east of Mala Tor, according to the Daedroth.
100	Finishes quest	I returned to the Shrine of Meridia, having killed K'Vatra the Sload. For a reward, Meridia granted me the Helm of Light Within.
