Maria Afrana wants you to look into the case of a vandalized painting. The artwork was intended for Ivul Hleryn, and "was meant to tie together Dunmer standards of beauty and the teachings of Dibella". Maria asks that you speak to the artist, Hilfrid Yellow-Mane, downstairs. Do so. Hilfrid reports that she mistakenly left her key to the temple at the Vermilion Hound Cornerclub shortly before the painting was vandalized, and suggests speaking to the owner. Go to the cornerclub and speak to Ruvene Falvanys behind the bar. She recalls a rough-looking Dunmer leaving the bar soon after Hilfrid did. Ask around others in town with 50+ disposition (60+ if they're a Dark Elf), and they'll name Mausur Yakinusha as meeting that description.
Mausur lives in an apartment southwest of the Chapel of Dibella, although he himself can be found standing outside of it. If you challenge him, he'll note your lack of proof. Best get some then - break into his apartment. You'll find a paintbrush and Hilfrid's Chapel of Dibella Key next to a bucket in the little pantry. Pick these up and confront Mausur to get a confession. You'll have a choice of reporting him to the guards or of attacking him. The latter will only annoy Maria, so choose the former and then go back to the chapel to report Mausur as the culprit.

Maria Afrana told me about a vandalized painting of Ivul Hleryn's wife. She asked me to look into the case and advised that I ask its painter, Hilfrid Yellow-Mane, who is downstairs in the art room.

Hilfrid Yellow-Mane told me that she accidentally left the key from the temple at the Vermilion Hound Cornerclub. When she came back to retrieve them, they went missing. Hilfrid suggested speaking to Ruvene Falvanys, the cornerclub's owner, to see if she remembers anything more about it.

Ruvene Falvanys said that the keys were taken by a rough looking Dunmer, perhaps an Ashlander, when she was looking away. She recommended that I ask around town if I want to find out more.
