The town looks quiet, but there's plenty of trouble to be found

Warning[edit]

Agreeing to help Master Mithras during this quest will lock you out of the questline given by his enemy, Mistress Rathra, in the same way that completion of Rathra's first quest will lock you out of helping Mithras.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Talk to people in Ranyon-ruhn and discover problems in town.
  2. Convince Mithras that you can help with his hard times.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

If you ask around in Ranyon-ruhn, people will tell you that the town has fallen on hard times. Income from the local ebony mine has dropped, and even the town's ruler, Mithras, is getting concerned.

Talk to Mithras about hard times. Before he will offer you a chance to help, you must either be a Lawman or higher rank in House Telvanni. If you accept the chance, the next quest begins immediately.

If you refuse to help Mithras, his disposition towards you drops by 60 points, and his fight increases by ten, so it's quite possible he will attack you. Every time you subsequently talk to him about hard times, his disposition drops a further five points.
