Welcome[edit]

Hello Tarvok! Welcome to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Enjoy! --Wolok gro-Barok 14:44, 9 June 2009 (EDT)

Intentional Defacement?[edit]

Hello Tarvok, I was wondering if you could explain why this was done? I know you said it was to prove a point, but could you please expand on what that point is, otherwise the edit will likely be reversed by the next admin/patroller who sees it. -Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 18:21, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

I, too, would like to see some type of explanation. At the moment, the only effect of the edit that I can anticipate is that it is going to annoy and confuse a lot of patrollers and other people who monitor the recent changes page. If you are trying out an experiment, the correct place for such an experiment would be your user page or a user sandbox; wiki articles are not an appropriate place to conduct personal experiments. --NepheleTalk 18:39, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I just reverted it. I'm not interested in people proving points - I'm interested in improving the wiki. If your edit was intended to do that, you should provide a proper edit summary. If you had, I'd be perfectly prepared to accept your edit could be a proper one. Nobody on this site reverts without reading edit summaries or considering the implications of an edit.
Please provide an explanation for your edit. –rpehTCE 18:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Honestly, I was just playing a joke on the Bethsoft Lore Forums. There are a number of folks over there who cite the UESP as an authoritative source in lore arguments. We were having a little man vs. mer fight and UESP was cited as a "source" for the nature of Lorkhan as a "trickster" deity. While I have nothing but respect for the summary that exists here, I felt that referencing such a tertiary source is bad form in our little game, so I decided to have some fun by removing all references to "trickster" from that particular page, and then linked it like, "OMG wat r u talkin about?". I meant no harm, and fully intended to restore the page to what it's supposed to be. I guess the point I was trying to make is, stick to proper sources, rather than referencing a wiki.

If I annoyed people here excessively, I apologize, and I won't do it again.
