Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online PTS v10.3.1! This week, Cyrodiil Champions Vengeance Campaign is available for PTS Testing! The Vengeance Campaign is focused on reducing server complexity, thus cutting down on server stress during mass battles. However for PTS, the focus is on functionality. We are testing to make sure the system works functionally, so when the test goes live after Update 45 launches, everyone has the best environment to play in.

Additionally, Jester’s Festive is available for testing for week 2 of the Update 45 PTS Cycle. Along side those two big items, we have general bug fixes for Greymoor, Fallen Banners and Base Game content. A full list of those fixes are available below. As always, feel free to provide feedback on PTS v10.3.1 through our feedback and bug threads, located here.

Base Game[edit]

Cyrodiil Champions TEST (aka. Vengeance Campaign)[edit]

This new test for Cyrodiil is focused directly on reducing Ability complexity in efforts to cut down on server stress when mass battles occur. Anything you see that's enabled or disabled during this test, is purely for the sake of performance, and getting calculations as low as possible on the server. Support systems, which are normally on, such as mail, achievements, leaderboards etc. are disabled for this test.

This is due to the overhead they presented when having temporary alterations to your character while in Cyrodiil for this test. When you enter Vengeance during this test, you’ll engage with the smallest footprint of ability usage we could muster while retaining your class flavor. We hope to see improved server performance gains with much higher populations than we've seen in the past. We look forward to your feedback and participation in this unique test!

For PTS we are testing purely functionality and not gathering data about Server Performance until this test goes live later in March after U45 has launched. These are some of the core questions we are looking for. We will also note these in the feedback and bug threads for the Vengeance Campaign. Do characters properly zone into Cyrodiil with templatized Stats and Gear? Do characters earn XP/AP/Gold upon leaving? Do siege weapons still function with the limitations of only deploying 1 type at at time? Do any of your characters become ‘corrupted’ if they leave Cyrodiil mid battle, lost connection, got booted, etc?

Additional Campaign Vengeance Notes for the PTS Cycle: A new campaign "Vengeance” is available during the PTS cycle to test functionality for a broader test occurring after Update 45 Launches. This campaign does not allow your current abilities, items and ‘gear’ to transition into Cyrodiil. Instead, it replaces all your abilities, items, etc. to a “template” for each individual Class. (EG. If you zone into Cyrodiil as a Templar, you will be a 'Vengeance Templar’ with pre-set abilities in your skill book. Only those abilities will be available to place on your action bar.) Player Stats will be set and not be altered by any items worn. They can be altered by Abilities granted on each ‘template’. Everyone is also granted ‘reusable’ items such as Siege, potions, soul gems, etc. Siege is also altered in this campaign where you can only deploy 1 of each type of weapon at a time. If you try to deploy another weapon of the same type, your prior weapon will despawn. You also cannot pack up any siege to be saved later. The following systems are disabled in the Vengeance Campaign Test. An error message will display in the upper corner noting ‘You cannot do that in this Campaign’ upon interacting with quest NPCs, skyshards, crafting nodes, stores, etc.: Quests Achievements Emperorship Leaderboards Mail Crown Store Armory Crafting Trading with others Interacting with Sky shards and Mundus stones. Everyone’s Mount speed is set to a pre-determined amount. Any XP, AP, Gold or Rewards for the Worthy system mails you would normally earn while in this campaign will only be awarded AFTER you leave Cyrodiil. You will still be notified when you earn XP, AP and Gold while inside the campaign, but they won't be available until you leave. XP will be applied to skill lines and abilities upon leaving except for Assault and Support skill lines. Golden Pursuits will be active in this campaign. AP and XP earned will be increased 100% while in this Campaign. Slotted abilities will be saved upon exiting the campaign and will be separate from pre-existing character hotbars. This includes the primary, backup, and quickslot wheels. The AvA skill lines will not be attainable in Cyrodiil during this time. Enchantments, poisons and traits will be disabled but won't display as red on the tooltip like the stat/set bonus will. You will not be able to re-log into Cyrodiil directly from character select if you logged out in Cyrodiil. ‘Item sets’ are fully disabled in this campaign, including stat bonuses. You can change your outfits IF they are saved prior to entering Cyrodiil. You cannot make ‘new outfits’ or changes to your outfits while in Cyrodiil.

Jesters Festival[edit]

Jester’s Festival is back! As with last year and years going forward, the +100% experience bonus previously gained by eating the Pie of Misrule is now passive during the event, no actions required. You can, and should, still eat pie though, because it’s delicious.

This year’s silly new offerings are the Jester’s Alliance Mimicry outfit pieces and the Jester’s Deadly Headband adornment. For the mimicry outfits, there’s one each for head and chest “armor” for all three alliances, made from the finest okayest fabric and sass. All of these can be found in the Stupendous Jester’s Festival Boxes, or from the Impresario for various event ticket values.

Furthermore, you can finish out your fragments for the Logical Rune Extraction customized action during this event; the final piece becomes available with Jester’s Festival.

Three (3) Event Tickets per day come from the usual avenue (your first Jester’s Festival daily quest each day). Holiday Achievement vendors in major cities also carry new Jester’s Festival thematic furnishings, sold for gold and requiring the listed event achievement.
