Tholas Horaren

Tholas Horaren is a Dark Elf Noble and a resident of Andothren. He lives with his wife Manse Horaren in Horaren Manor, in a loving if sometimes cantankerous relationship. Tholas is important within House Hlaalu, and has a sense of pride to match. He will dismiss you haughtily during the events of Andothren Charity, in which you seek financial support for the local temple:

"Out of the question. Your Temple keeps inviting all sorts of rabble in. Any one of them could be a spy in disguise. I will never support this nonsense."

In general, Tholas does seem to fear spies for an unknown reason, and during The Waylaid Ship, if asked about the impounded ship, he will accuse you of spying on his wife:

"Are you spying for that ship's crew? Manse has not done anything wrong -- that's all I'm telling you."

Tholas additionally features in the House Hlaalu quest, The Hearing. Here you need to persuade him to vote to protect one Clavus Farragian, a servant of Tholer Andas, from a vengeful Camonna Tong. He proves somewhat cynical of Tholer's motives, but is willing to lend you his vote either if you bribe him with 3,000 gold, or if you concede that Andas' intentions may not be entirely pure of heart:

"Your honesty is refreshing, %PCname. Andas may have ulterior motives but perhaps this is best for the House regardless. Very well, you may have my vote."
